I think it’s driving away their customers as well, As you said pub half empty, i didn’t even know they were playing ( i never used to miss a match) , overkill will bring down what is already a very fragile stack of cards. Revie was good at getting players to pull out of internationals. That was before this useless competition and the idiots expanded the othe competitions.
