A point is a point but there's nothing remotely impressive about setting a team up to contain. Still got 2 of the best wingers in the league which would justify some attacking ambition today. But no. Didn't even look like the players knew what to do when they crossed the halfway line.
West Brom not great but at least there were trends with the way they attacked. We had no trends, was just random and unscripted. Serious lack of cohesion. Don't remember us even having a shot on target.
Go buy a number 10. I'm not watching another 44 games of Piroe trying to link midfield and attack. I'd sooner watch grass grow let alone mow it.
MDT: West Brom v Leeds
Re: MDT: West Brom v Leeds
Aaronsen is an ideal 10 and would do so much better. Piroe is a tap in merchant, can’t believe he’s gone back to trying to force him to be a 10 like he did half of last season. Then when he finally stopped we were ten times better

Also, if you put Aaronson in instead, you have all the ingredients of a devastating high press. Imagine Joseph, James, Aaronson and Gnonto pressing fuck out of defences. That would be playing to our strengths.
Probably never even entered Farke's head though. Mr Sensible would never consider such madness. Best to just stand off teams and let them dictate.
Re: MDT: West Brom v Leeds
Exactly that, even with players coming on it works if they’re like for like swaps. Wingers for wingers, Bamford for Joseph etc. Piroe is an exceptional finisher but we aren’t using him that way and rarely have. Terrible signing for our system and probably needs moving on cos hes too lazy for the press.Rick wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 7:45 pmAlso, if you put Aaronson in instead, you have all the ingredients of a devastating high press. Can't understand why he didn't push Piroe to the 9 spot. Should be starting there with Joseph of the bench.Jay wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 2:45 amExactly that, even with players coming on it works if they’re like for like swaps. Would like to see Joseph get a few more games. 2 probably not enough to evaluate him, though he looked lost yesterday no doubt. Decent v Pompy though.Hampshirewhites wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 10:27 amCan't understand why he didn't push Piroe to the 9 spot.
