I presume he's ineligible to play against Cardiff is because he wasn't a Leeds player before the original game?Schwantz34 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:40 pm Officially official now.

Striker signs for the Whites!
Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of striker Georginio Rutter for a club record transfer fee, subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old joins the Whites from German Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
After successfully passing his medical, Rutter signed a long-term five-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road, with his contract running until the summer of 2028.
The Frenchman made his breakthrough with Stade Rennais, making his debut at the age of 18, in a 3-0 victory over AS Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1 in September 2020.
His first professional goal came in the UEFA Champions League in December of the same year, when he found the net against Sevilla.
On 1st February 2021, Rutter completed a transfer deadline day move to Hoffenheim with the German outfit keen to acquire his services.
He made his debut for the Blues in the UEFA Europa League against Molde FK and netted his first goal for the club in his first Bundesliga outing, a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen.
In total, during his time in Germany, Rutter made 64 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
The forward is also a French youth international and has earned 58 caps from Under-15 to Under-21 level.
He was given his Under-21s debut for France in March 2022, with whom he has four caps and has played alongside Whites goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Rutter is ineligible to play in Wednesday’s Emirates FA Cup third round replay with Cardiff City, but will be introduced to the crowd ahead of kick-off at Elland Road.
He could make his Whites debut in next Sunday’s Premier League clash with Brentford.
The striker becomes Leeds’ second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Max Wober and he will wear the number 24 shirt.

Assuming he's as good as reports suggest, where's he gonna play? Marsch gonna drop Rodrigo for him? With him being so young it's hard to tell what the short term plan is for him, though cant see us spending £28m and putting him on bench for rest of season.
Suppose a lot will depend on him, how he takes to prem football etc.

The journos seem to think we are going to go in for Azzedine Ounahi, if that’s the case we’re spending at least another £15m and definitely points to a serious cash injection from someone - presumably the 49’ers in preparation for the summer takeover

Striker in a 4-2-3-1 with Rodrigo behind him, Gnonto and Aaronson wide of him possibly.Rick wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 9:35 pm Assuming he's as good as reports suggest, where's he gonna play? Yeah makes sense. Rodrigo can't be worse than Aaronson has been at CAM recently and Aaronson looked decent in a wider role at start of the season. And Obvs with this we get to play our sexy new striker and keep Rodrigo's goal threat.Schwantz34 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:44 pmStriker in a 4-2-3-1 with Rodrigo behind him, Gnonto and Aaronson wide of him possibly.Rick wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 9:35 pm Assuming he's as good as reports suggest, where's he gonna play? Be interesting when everyone is fit. Sini has to come in somewhere imo. Summerville has been a real threat too. Would be ideal if Sini can return and play behind Rutter, but not sure if he's played there much before. Summerville and Gnonto wide.
Bench would look pretty good anorl. Harrison, Aaronson, Rodrigo, Bamford, Ounahi (potentially) etc.
