Still think with what we have available we should be closer to 2nd. Can’t throw points away as we have. The above stats just show how shit the league really is.
MDT Sunderland v Leeds

Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
Well forget about August with likes of Shackleton and Poveda on the wing and players refusing to play. For us to be closer to second we'd have to have been on record breaking form from then on. Pretty high bar that Sid.
We gave em a 10 point start and have been running at the same pace as them ever since.

Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
I said we gave em 10 points start, it’s the games where we have failed to make up points like those i mentioned that have me wondering about him. I said other week, one dimensional, teams working us out. Sunderland was another classic example of it. With squad we have we should be ruining those teams, we are not and infact were lucky to come away at only 1.0 other night.Rick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 11:44 am Well forget about August with likes of Shackleton and Poveda on the wing and players refusing to play. Every team can point to specific matches where performances/results were poor. I don't think any team in Europe has won more than 80% of their games at a glance. Top 2 in the prem sitting at around 68%.Sid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 12:15 pmI said we gave em 10 points start, it’s the games where we have failed to make up points like those i mentioned that have me wondering about him. Your critique of tactics is fair enough. I just don't get the idea that we're underachieving points wise. To be closer to top 2 would need unrealistic form from September onwards. Even including August, 2 points game per is an avarage every leeds fan would've taken at the start of the season.
Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
It’s more specifically the games we have lost and the way we have lost them. Sunderland was a team totally lacking ideas. Stoke was same, brum, Rotherham etc. I’m saying we should have been battering those teams with what we have squad wise, we didn’t and i’m sorry to say IMO tactics were to blame. Win those and we would be more or less on level term with top 2. We didn’t, we are not.Rick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 1:00 pmEvery team can point to specific matches where performances/results were poor. Farke has done ok but as it always said on my school report, could do better.
Edit to clarify when i mention other teams it’s us i’m saying were lacking ideas.
Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
And just to repeat myself, i’d be out researching alternatives, just in case it all goes to shit. They would be fools not to and i’d put money on it that they will be doing just that.
Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
In those games yes, it didn't look right. I'm sure Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool fans look at most of their losses to lesser teams and say the manager got it wrong on the day.
We're not perfect and we're susceptible to the odd shit performance like anyone else. If all our losses came in a row in the last month then I'd understand your concern of it going to shit, but our losses are very sporadic.
What win percentage do you think is acceptable for us in this League? If we won the matches you mentioned we'd be looking at what, 90+% since start of September? To me that goes beyond acceptable to unrealistic.

Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
It’s just me mate, i said from day one wasn’t sure with him, i’m not convinced with his tactics, i’ve pointed out several games where he’s been found lacking, Pete said as much about Sunderland match and seems plenty others feel the same reading other forum. All i’m saying is we should have easily won those games with what we have as a squad, we didn’t and basically played without ideas. We’ll have won a couple in that way as well i know granted. It’s not the points lost or the % wins etc. It’s the way we are playing i don’t like. I think he wastes Piroe virtually every game, i’m sure he could offer much more as a 9, as it is he’s a passenger, i hate the tip tap back to keeper from a corner or an advanced position free kick bollox, lack of urgency and power play. Just seems wasteful and negative given the quality he has at his disposal. I’m just saying what i think based on what i see. I think those in board room will see this as well and hopefully will be taking time to look at others in case the worst happens and they decide to move on from Farke. I’d rather they were prepared than just panic appointing someone else. They may equally be happy to give him a second season if needed but their investment won’t wait forever and i think he gets 1 go. Rightly or Wrongly.Rick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 2:25 pm In those games yes, it didn't look right. Re: MDT Sunderland v Leeds
Fair enough Sid. All about opinions isn't it pal.
I'm sure every club has a general eye on the manager market at all times. I do think it would be difficult to find a manager with better pedigree in this League than Farke. It would be a huge risk whoever we appoint from what we'd have to choose from. We ain't getting another of the caliber of Bielsa at this level, was a one-off.
At this stage in time though, actively researching a new manager would be like spending your honeymoon on Tinder because the wife hasn't noshed you off at every available opportunity.

It’s just me over thinking things hopefully, football unfortunately though is all about money, and investors only invest for one thing. If it was me i’d be looking at things. Hopefully Jan and the run in will see things change for the better. I still can’t quite take to farke’s tactics though. Boring as fuck to boot.
