We struggled to get round their press of 4 up top. Decent team are Palace so no need to panic. Could tell in ground many fickle cunts expect us to beat anyone. Its our 2nd season, 31 points needed with 99 to play for.

Spot on mate. There’s definitely been a growth in people losing their shit at every game we don’t win over the last 3 seasons or so. And they make it sound so simple. Why didn’t we do this? All I’m bothered about this season is, like you say, getting to that 40 point mark as quickly as possible and go from there. May well be a couple of points more than that required like last season. There are no kind fixtures in the PL. And fair fucks to Hull for their start they look difficult to beat. Ipswich will be fairly content with their start as well.
We were 15th on 17 points last Christmas Day. 11 games to play between now and then.

Was always gonna be a bit of a post-mortem after that match. Palace had conceded 2 goals or more in their previous 10 Prem matches. Our passing was below our usual standard and we didnt create much.
Though I think it was more down to Palace playing well than anything. They gave us very little space. They're in a transitional period so perhaps were underestimated by our fans (myself included). Who knows where they'll finish this season.
Wharton and Timber are exceptional midfielders and schooled ours. Their defence dealt with everything. Perhaps we just came up against a new-look team who are starting to click under Sage

Really hope this pre-3pm kick-off hoodoo gets put to bed soon. These trends are bizarre in football. Like the London one.
I genuinely think these trends start by pure coincidence, then become self-fulfilling prophecy. Especially summat like pre/post 3pm. Tarik mentioned the kick-off time in his post-match which I was a little surprised by. Though I think he was just trying to highlight how special ER is under the lights, which is fair enough.
Farke also touched on the atmosphere (Yorkshire Post):
"I would take each and every night under the floodlights if I’m honest. They're all human beings.
On Monday night, we come out, the whole stadium was already before kick-off, exploding, the floodlights are on, it's a special atmosphere.
Today, Sunday afternoon, everyone comes a bit more like, ‘come on, we want to be entertained’. It's also a bit of a different atmosphere and we didn't manage to keep the fire burning inside the stadium.”
I'm not trying to make a particular point here. Just find it interesting how much emphasis is put on atmosphere. No doubt embracing the atmosphere can have positive effects on performance, and can give us an advantage compared to teams who just dont get such atmospheres in their grounds. So I do agree with Farke putting emphasis on such things. But I'd also be concerned about fostering an over-reliance. Wouldn't ever want my players to feel something is "missing" on a matchday.
