Just don’t get the thing with release clause. It’s there. It has an expiry date on it (I think). Weird how we haven’t triggered it. If we are actually in for him.

If we are in for him there are only 2 reasons I can think why we haven't triggered it. Either we see it as pointless until we've convinced the player to join, or we're waiting for the clause to expire so we can try get him cheaper. I read somewhere that the clause expires mid August but dunno how credible cos I can't even remember the source.

It's like these days clubs dont tend to put the bid in till the player has agreed terms
