Been prompted to post this on here as apparently you're all more generous than WACCOE. Well, let's see shall we?
The story....
Many moons ago because of arthritis in my ankles I had to stop playing competitive sport. Yeah yeah, I'm an old cunt. Piss off.
However by fluke I found Wheelchair RL, and it has honestly been a life-saver for me. Not going to get into the "mental health" bollocks, but it gave me an avenue to still be competitive, and release a lot of aggression.
Last year I ran an event in Bridlington, that was just York Knights and Hull FC.
I was a York player at the time, but have now made the step up to Superleague with Hull FC, as well as playing for the United Kingdom Armed Forces WcRL team.
This year I'm looking at going further, and raising money for two brilliant charities.
It's going to be a 4-team tournament this year, on the 25th of October (the nearest date I could get to remembrance day) raising money for MASH (Military Assistance Social Hub) who do amazing work with bringing together veterans and current serving personnel with any support they may need.
And York RLFC Foundation, who provide a massive range of community-based events, ranging from rugbees, a primary-shool based rugby programme for girls, to fish 'n' chip Fridays in local care homes for the elderly.
Every single penny raised goes to these charities. I have personally taken care of any overheads.
But what we do need are sponsors, donations of items for a raffle, or as B@stard has already done, donated an amazing item that could potentially be auctioned.
I'm kicking this off with a scratchcard. Yep, it's £20 a square, but the first prize is £1000.
When I can figure shit out (I'm an old cunt don't forget) I'll post a piccy of the scratchcard as it is at the mo.
Details for payment for the scratchcard..
