James Trafford saved both. Right keeper that lad. Who was last decent keeper we had? Rob Green?
Aye, Sunderland keeper kept them in it first half too. Both keepers earning their teams a point.

Yep probably Rob Green. Been utter dogshit since. Weidwald, Peacock-Farrel, Kiko and now The Shice Man.
I actually think Meslier will come good at some point for someone. He needs taking out of the firing line and badly needs a decent coach to help him. I think the standard of our keepers reflects as much on our coaching of as much as anything else.
Different i know but Chris Wood was shit with his head, Beattie came in and he improved no end.

I think it's more likely just shite recruitment regarding goalkeepers as we've had plenty of players over the last few years who we've developed to high levels, (unless the problem is specifically poor goalkeeper coaching, who knows).

Regarding Mes maybe he will come good, but after years of saying it patience wears thin. Agree a rest or a change would probably be best for his development. Just needs to learn to command his area properly. His indecisiveness with crosses is borderline slapstick. Then again his shotstopping seems to have gone off a cliff anorl.

Not defending him in any way, The attributes he showed under Bielsa seem to have left him, I mentioned Wood as he always infuriated me as someone who got shorter when he jumped to head the ball. ( bit like Meslier with crosses) Beattie came in and quickly it was clear that coaching had improved him in the air.
Meslier needs a spell out but not sure Darlow is any better and seems we won’t be recruiting. Will he start Sunday?

I guess time will tell. Though I'd put my money on him starting Mes, going off recent pressers.

Though he shouldn't start.

Against Harrogate the crowd did a huge cheer when Darlow caught his first ball (as a way of taking piss out of Meslier). If Mes fucks up v Sheff the crowd won't hold back.

I seriously fear some Rachubka-esque if Meslier chucks in a performance at ER like he did at Hull. Could be wrong as the match going crowd aren’t as polarised as the online set. But you’d imagine even patience is wearing thin with them.
Over 20 years since we had someone like Martyn :(

Everynow n then I do a season review marathon from 90s/2000s, to get that nostalgia.

Very, very rarely was Martyn to blame for a goal. Maybe once a season or something. But made so many top saves. Would love a keeper like him again.
