Are there any of our surplus players we'll actually be able to get money for? They're all fuckin shit. Orta spent millions on youth development and they're all being released or loaned out.

Sky Sports saying Werder Bremen after Schmidt on loan, but Farke wants a replacement before giving the green light.

Depends on your definition of surplus. If you’re talking big bucks then you’re eating into what probably is considered part of the squad.
Meslier - probably be a loan, drops clangers. Bamford, wages too high, last year of contract, probably a loan. Gelhardt, did ok but probably a loan. Greenwood, might command a fee but it’d probably struggle to scrape 7 figures.
So no.

Not clear whether they’re after obligations/options. Lad wants to play, World Cup year.

Not clear whether they’re after obligations/options. Lad wants to play, World Cup year.
Pretty easy to replace with a loan, probably towards end of the window when squads are more finalised and players become available.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It's annoying cos even smallish fees for em would all add up.

To be fair to us, the player had already agreed terms with them. But Feyenoord held firm with their valuation it seems. Were we used for leverage? Possibly.
