I'm a bit confused by the narrative surrounding Paixao. Seems that we're waiting on whether Marseille can't agree a fee. Why? Why not just bid ourselves anyway?

Or is it a case of us being able to meet Feyenoord's demands, but out of respect to the player Feyenoord are waiting to see if Marseille can meet their demands too as that's his preferred destination?

Or is it a case of the player not wanting to discuss personal terms with anyone unless his preferred move has broken down?
