Have held off adding Anthony to final list till I know for certain there’s no hitch
Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Jaidon Anthony on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The 23-year-old arrives at Elland Road from AFC Bournemouth, in a deal which will see Luis Sinisterra head in the opposite direction to the Vitality Stadium, for the remainder of the campaign.
Anthony spent his youth career with Arsenal, before going on to join the Cherries in 2016.
He went on to make his debut for Bournemouth in December 2020 against Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship, before amassing six further appearances throughout the campaign in all competitions.
The following season, Anthony established himself as a key player on the south coast, making 45 appearances as Scott Parker’s side won promotion to the Premier League.
During the 2021/22 campaign, in which Bournemouth finished as runners-up in the second tier, he scored eight goals and provided six assists.
Last season, Anthony helped the Cherries keep their Premier League status, featuring 30 times as they finished in 15th place.
The winger has started three of Bournemouth’s four matches in the current campaign, with his last outing coming in Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.
He becomes the ninth and final arrival of the summer transfer window, alongside Ethan Ampadu, Sam Byram, Karl Darlow Ilia Gruev, Glen Kamara, Joel Piroe, Joe Rodon and Djed Spence.
Anthony will be unavailable for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road, but could make his Leeds United debut after the international break against Millwall at The Den, on Sunday 17th September
