It's so refreshing that a couple of wins on the bounce can put you within touching distance of top spot this season. Last season was horrible, you either kept pace or dropped behind, it seemed.

I was pretty concerned when Solomon got injured but I'm actually really liking this front 4. So much energy and workrate. Joseph dragging defenders all over with the 3 behind him popping up all over the place. Aaronson and Gnonto going from strength to strength.

When researching Ramazani when he signed, one thing that stuck with me is reports that he ran himself into the ground every match and had to be regularly subbed off early because of it. Well yesterday we saw that, tracking back, constantly on the move. He really compliments our attacking unit.

Then of course, when the most hard-working attack in the league has left defences exhausted, we bring on the best finisher in the league. A thing of beauty.

Add to that we have 5 clean sheets from 7. Plenty of cause for optimism so far.

Have seen the goals this am, Little willy’s was a corker, Piroe was just as you say, a cracking finish.
I didn’t see game but seen a lot of comments saying still over cautious before killing the game off.
Perhaps farke just needs to learn to take the handbrake off more often.

Any news on Ampadu?

Farke said Ampadu needs assessment but after the match felt it wasn't too bad. So I guess we'll wait and see. On the plus side Tanaka looked very good when he came on. Though Amps will still be a massive miss, best CM in the league by a mile imo.

We basically got the second and just went into counter mode, which is why some folk will have said we were overcautious. But I'm fine with that on this occasion, got 3 games in 6 days. Pragmatism is needed. Plus it worked anyway cos we got a 3rd on the break. Before we got the second we were at them pretty agressively and efficiently. Probably best performance thus far. Front 4 starting to gel.

Long old season though. Need to wrack up those points whilst we're in form.

And big up to the full backs. Both with direct goal contributions yesterday.

The one about looking in the gutter for something to eat, find a dead a rat and they think it's a treat?
On the TV could only really hear Leeds fans. Did quite a loud and prolonged rendition of "Jimmy Saville he fingered your mum". I'm simply not mature enough to keep a straight face when I hear that.
There was a Saville look a like in their crowd.
Leeds singing "we thought you were dead"
Aye, just seen some matchday vlogs on youtube.

Only at football can your day take a bizarre turn with thousands chanting "pedo" at you.

Meant to ask how Tanaka faired, seemed strange that previously he wasn’t really given any time to show yet came straight on for Ampadu. Glad the lad got a run, will do his confidence the world of good.

Great summary Rick. If Ampadu is OK I'd still rest him for Norwich and hopefully bring him back for Sunderland.
