Aye. Tempting to think Gnonto would fill his shoes if it comes to that. Sadly him and his rat agent will be pushing for a move in summer if we don't go up.

Can't see us losing Rutter mind. As good as he can be on his day, he won't be able to freestyle his way through Prem defenders. His style is too erratic. Pure chaos ensues when he's on the ball, for better or worse.

Hopefully none of this will matter come May anyway.

It’s a real concern (for me) how influential Byram has been this season. We do look different without him.
And also how reliant we are on our first XI. Badly need that LB in January.

Actually though spence was much improved on sunderland performance but yes you are 100% correct.

I thought Spence was fine and tbh can’t wait to see him in his correct position. I just thought we looked a little disjointed? Although the main issues from yesterday were elsewhere for me.

Honestly Sid I’m not sure what we do when teams line up like they did yesterday. They played a very defensive line up. Usual back 4, 3 DMs, a second LB playing as a defensive winger.
I do think Piroe should be our 9 but both his current and former manager say he’s better as 10, so what do I know. We don’t really have game changing alternatives off the bench but after the summer we had it’s hardly surprising.
All said and done we had the chances yesterday. Rutter could have had a hat trick. Easily. Lad just isn’t a finisher.

My biggest criticism is the pedestrian pace we go at them, it allows them to sit back too much, we have 2 very quick wingers but time and time again pass the ball to them in a way(behind them Like a panto) that they have to pass it back again, its crackers. Our build up doesn’t really draw them out and the speed we advance gives them more than enough time to get back on the odd occasion we do.
Jimmy needs to learn to release the ball as well and not try to do it all himself. Piroe 🤷‍♂️ We have to stop trying to walk it in, shoot on sight and get bodies in the box, no point having wingers and no one to get on end of things.
We’ll be lucky to finish 3rd way things are shaping up., good job 3rd or 6th makes little difference.

Agree ,our tempo in all the defeats has been slow ponderous and pathetic, it’s almost as if they think we just need to turn up..
