Agree. According to some Orta gave him a stupid contract which on promotion went up 3 or 4 times as to what he was on. Rumours of 45 to 60 grand a week. A big saving over tge remainder of his contract.

I think that it needed somebody like Middlesbrough or West Ham to get him but that seems highly unlikely for both now.

Maybe a Birmingham, Bristol City or Stoke City will go big on a proven Championship goal scorer.

Losing him on a free seems extremely wasteful...
