He's 8, but i'm just happy he likes sport. Not fussed at all about who he supports.

He's played the last four years and was the best player in the team the last two years, but he's checked out of football now tbh. He's signed up for Rugby League next year to play alongside his mates from school, and everyone's excited about that (except his Mum).

He's 8, but i'm just happy he likes sport. Not fussed at all about who he supports.

He's played the last four years and was the best player in the team the last two years, but he's checked out of football now tbh. He's signed up for Rugby League next year to play alongside his mates from school, and everyone's excited about that (except his Mum).

Bless him. Yeah any sport is good for kids. He should try as many as he wants and see which one he likes best. He might get back into footy in a few years.

My father in law swapped-out an empty gas bottle for the BBQ on Christmas day and didn't close the valve properly on the 'empty' one.

It still had enough gas in it to fill the pergola up with gas without him realising, and when he went to re-light the BBQ the spark burnt it all off and nearly killed him. Was like a big explosion.

They said he was lucky he wore glasses to protest his eyes, lucky that he instinctively turned away from the explosion and didn't inhale the flames down his throat, and also lucky that he had the presence of mind to get straight in to the shower, although he did walk past two other showers to get to his ensuite shower haha.


Got airlifted in a helicopter that landed in the park next to their house and rushed to Royal North Shore in Sydney.

All on Christmas morning.

We laughed about it in hindsight because he was fine in the end, but it was bloody traumatising on the day let me tell you.

He just started cricket, too. They had 8 or 9 skills sessions on Saturday mornings, teaching them the basics of batting and bowling, which finished up yesterday. Now after the holiday break they'll organise a few non-competitive proper games, although they did tell him he'd be good enough to play with the U11's already if he wanted to give it a go.

I'm honestly not one of those Dad's that just thinks their kids are good at everything, but he genuinely does have a great hand-eye and is super competitive.

He was scoring 4 or 5 goals a game by the end of this season, and when the club found out he was leaving to play RL they asked him if he'd like to play up a year in the graded side.


He's going to play for the RL club that i played for, though, which i became a life member of at the beginning of this year.
I've enjoyed watching him play soccer, but the idea of him pulling on the maroon & gold of Shellharbour in the RL next year honestly makes the hairs stand up a bit. I love him, and i love that footy club. Can't wait.

Yeah they said that most people don't even get to water. They just panic and start trying to take their clothes off and run around screaming. They said if he hadn't got to water his skin would have been fucked.

Also they said if the same thing had happened before the Bali bombings terrorist attack, after which some clever Aussie invented spray-on skin, he would have been permanently scarred, but he ended up looking 10yrs younger
