It was indeed a piss take then.

The joker Pete at Footy Insider is still chucking out stories on us hoping one will eventually land.

His latest is that clubs have been told £12m will get Hamer. Burnley have been turned away already.

Burnley have walked away from a few because of price tags so wouldn’t be a shock. Tella, Harwood-Bellis.

And if it is 12m it’s not hard to see why we’ve not moved on it. If we’re even in for him.

That's the fee we could have had him for before them I think?

Maybe looking to recoup it all if that's what they paid. Not sure how much they did end up getting him for though.
