That’s what I’m thinking. And I’m convinced Cooper will then sign on for another year

Wouldn't surprise. He's merely entering a new era here, the League 2 Liam phase has begun.

He'll still be here when we've terraformed Mars.

That Schmidt scored today in the Europa Conference League or whatever fuck it is. Taken off early apparently. Maybe wanted to give em a send off, then jump on a plane.

Sadly yes. Remain hopeful that there’s something in pipeline but very quiet.

Schmidt seems like it will get done.

The only others being rumoured today (that i've seen) are Hamer and Sallai. Both seem to be difficult to pull off according to reports.

So aye, prolly just Schmidt and anything else is a bonus. Unless 49ers have something up their sleeve they've kept under wraps.

Really hope we bring a no.10 in. Can't rely on Aaronson all season and not a fan of shoehorning a winger or Piroe in there.

If we’re calling it quits at Tanaka & Schmidt then for me it’s been a poor window. Done on the cheap.
Something like £130m+ bought in?
Spent less than 25% of it?
Yes we owe money but it’s all structured and spread out over multiple years.
The figure is out there for Hamer - £18m. Large fee yes but if the season fails you don’t lose your money on him if there’s a fire sale next summer.
For me the rewards outweigh the risks.

Maybe ‘poor’ is a bad choice of phrase.

I wouldn’t call it an outstanding window.
We’re a Hamer or Sallai away from that - for me anyway.

As things stand….6/10

I guess only time will tell. I remember thinking Kristensen was a good signing and I gave that window a 7, which turned out to be a fatal mess. Need to see what they all bring to the table.

But yeah, on the face of it, looks to me we're a Gus Hamer away from a decent window. A Known quantity who will make a huge difference. As it stands, I don't really know what to expect from these players. Though I'm hopeful and the quality of last year's signings reassures me a bit.
