Looking at clips of him, he seems primarily to be a central player but with the attributes of a winger, so carries the ball centrally, breaking through the lines.

Perhaps they see him as ideal back-up/competition for that Aaronson no.8 role.

Though he seems pretty similar to Buonanotte, which is a bit confusing.

Maybe the plan is to replace all our out n out wingers with players who can play both on the wing and central as they will fit in to Farke's preferred formations, whereas likes of James, Gnonto, Harrison are pretty surplus in a 532.
