OG aside, had a very good game
Zebby's Mighty Whites vs The Smoggies OMDT
Re: Zebby's Mighty Whites vs The Smoggies OMDT
I thought Wober was immense last night, both in defense and attack. 2 nd good run out. Nippy for a big unit as well. Kept that Doak quiet ( someone who if we needed a winger). Big difference when we come up against a team who want to beat us and not contain us. Next couple will show if farke has learnt anything.

Fully expect both Preston and Oxford to sit deep. It’s grim stuff it really is when the game is played in half a pitch. Very little space, hence all the back n forth, probing. I don’t remember this many teams doing it against Bielsa. I could be wrong.Sid wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:10 pmI thought Wober was immense last night, both in defense and attack. 2 nd good run out. Gotta have somewhere to go. Watching on TV is deceptive. Difficult to find space to utilise the pace we have when you have 21 players in half a pitch. Most of the time it’s not even half. Struijk & Rodon spent a great deal of time beyond the center circle at the weekend.Sid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 10:46 amPace.Titman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:57 pmFully expect both Preston and Oxford to sit deep. I mean coming forward at pace when we gain possession instead of the pedestrian way that we normally do and (yes) use the pace we have up front. If we come out slow they regroup and Piroe cannot hold up the ball enough imo for us to play like that. I’d still be more mobile than him, he’s got the turning circle of an oil tanker.Titman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:19 pmGotta have somewhere to go. Watching on TV is deceptive. Come out to where exactly? If it’s anything like the weekend they’ve already got everyman behind the ball. I was sat directly in line with Derbys back 5. And they spent most of that first half camped about 15 yards out from their goal with the other 5 outfield players strung out in front of that.
You’re making it sound like we have acres to run into like the other night. Most of the time we simply don’t. Probably one of the reasons why folk are complaint the atmosphere has taken a hit.
It’s actually refreshing when a side turns up and a game of football breaks out.

What I find odd at ER is teams don't even change it up when we inevitably score. They'll be 2 nil down camped in their own box.
In the past teams would at least be forced to come out if they go a goal down. At the moment teams have no intention of participating in a football match regardless of anything.
Though if teams want to lay down and die so be it. As long as we finish top 2 not arsed. Just need to improve on the road and we're golden.

So are you saying for example Blackburn never crossed the half way line? I’m was talking away tactics, They were in our half plenty, they actually spent an uncomfortable amount of time in our half but at no point did we show any ambition to break away quickly, every time we get the ball it goes backwards, square at best then all the way through that again. Only time we look dangerous and i’ll include any game home or away this season or last even is when we play with pace and ambition. We have the tools to play like that but not to play at snails pace hoping to create an opening, our players are just not capable of doing it, no creativity in close, Piroe always yard off pace The soft yank running around in circles etc etc, it always eventually breaks down. If we got out quickly the opposition won’t get back and settled. Come out slow and we get nowhere as ever. It’s so predictable even fat frank will have it covered.Titman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 4:00 pm Come out to where exactly? Given v Boro, they came at us, but look again at how we created chances, mostly came from going for it, corners, chances resulted. We just look stale and weary playing so slow.
Grim grim watch i have to say, Feel for you paying money to watch that shite. Far more resilient than i could be.

Yes we have the tools Sid but attacking with pace, etc, etc isn’t always possible. That was my point.
